“Forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors.” Or, as the KJV puts it, “as we forgive those who trespass against us.” ”Trespass against us” sounds way worse. Debt is reminiscent of owing someone $15 or something minor like that, but trespassing–that sounds so violating. I can forgive a $15 debt, but a trespass? [...]
